Focus is a powerful large format portrait that captures LeBron James in a moment of intense concentration, just before taking a critical shot. In this painting, LeBron is completely still, as solid and unyielding as a rock, with every muscle and thought dedicated to perfecting the shot. The artwork freezes this iconic moment in sports history, where 100% of his focus is visible in every detail—from the determination in his eyes to the beads of sweat on his face.
This piece is inspired by the works of Chuck Close and Leroy Neiman, both of whom are renowned for their ability to capture the essence of their subjects with extraordinary detail and emotional depth. Through Focus, I aimed to convey the sheer power, discipline, and dedication that defines LeBron James, one of the greatest athletes of our time. My goal is for viewers to feel the tension, energy, and immense pressure of that split second, allowing them to connect with the athlete’s mindset and the significance of the moment.
I chose Acrylic paints as the medium for this work because of their ability to render the intricate details and rich textures that are crucial for conveying the realism and intensity of the scene. The versatility of Acrylic paints allows for subtle blending, depth, and the vividness necessary to bring out the lifelike quality of the portrait. This medium helps to emphasize the sweat, the lighting, and the physicality of LeBron, making the viewer feel as though they are witnessing a defining moment in sports history up close.

4. Refunds
