Return and Refund Policy – Michael Steward Paintings

At Michael Steward Paintings, we want you to love your Fine artwork, crafted by Michael Steward, 35-year career and Oscar winner. If you’re not fully satisfied, we offer returns under the following conditions. All prices are in USD.

1. Return Eligibility

• Original Paintings ($4,400 to $6,000 USD):

  • Returnable within 14 days of delivery if undamaged, in original condition, and in original packaging.

  • Returns are subject to inspection. No restocking fee.

• Giclée Prints ($640–$1400 USD, when available):

  • Returnable within 7 days of delivery if undamaged, unframed, and in original packaging.

  • Returns are subject to inspection. A 10% restocking fee ($60–$75 USD) may apply to cover handling, unless waived.

• Commissions and Custom Artwork:

  • Non-returnable due to their custom nature (e.g., custom portraits), unless damaged or misrepresented.

• Damaged or Incorrect Items:

  • Eligible for a full refund or replacement, including return shipping, if reported within 7 days of delivery with photos of damage. No restocking fee.

2. Return Process

• Email michaelstewardpaintings@gmail.com (mailto:michaelstewardpaintings@gmail.com) within the applicable return window (14 days for originals, 7 days for prints) with your order number and reason for return.

• Vancouver buyers may return in-person at our studio by appointment (address provided upon request).

• Pack the artwork securely in its original packaging to prevent damage during return shipping.

• Ship to the address provided in our return authorization email, with tracking information sent to michaelstewardpaintings@gmail.com.

3. Return Shipping Costs

• Buyer Responsibility: Buyers cover return shipping costs for non-damaged artwork, unless otherwise agreed.

• Our Responsibility: We cover return shipping for damaged or incorrect artwork with a prepaid label.

• Local Pickup Returns: No shipping costs for in-person returns at our Vancouver studio.

4. Refunds

• Refunds are issued to the original payment method (e.g., PayPal, bank transfer) within 7 business days of receiving and inspecting the returned artwork, minus any applicable restocking fee for prints.

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the artwork was damaged or incorrect.

• For international returns, customs duties/taxes are non-refundable.

Shipping Options for Original Paintings and Prints

• Stretched and Ready to Hang: Artwork is securely stretched onto a frame and shipped ready to hang. This ensures a finished piece but may increase shipping costs due to size. Free US shipping; worldwide quotes available.

• Rolled and Shipped in a Tube: Artwork is shipped rolled in a tube for cost savings. Take it to a local framer for stretching and mounting. Free US shipping; worldwide quotes available.
